Intro

For the first time in history, the soul of the Irish frame drum lives inside a single instrument. The eDhrón Echo captures the full sonic character of the world’s most revered bodhráns — sampled at 24-bit/96kHz in professional studio conditions, in painstaking Round Robin detail — and puts them under your tipper. Your tipper. The one already in your hand.

Play the masters

Hedwitschak · O’Kane · Mc Neela · White · Vignoles · Bartlett · Metloef · Moggy · March

Nine iconic builders. Nine distinct voices. Each one sampled across the full dynamic range, from a whisper brush to a full-force strike, with up to 24 velocity layers and 8-way Round Robin sampling to eliminate the dreaded machine-gun effect. The Echo doesn’t approximate these drums. It is them.

Switch between makers mid-session. Layer sounds. Dial in the exact attack, sustain and shimmer you need for the tune.

Your tippers. Always.

The Echo features a high-sensitivity polymer head tuned to respond identically to a real goatskin surface. Use the tippers you already know — double-ender, single-knob, hooked, brush. The drum reads your technique, not the other way around. Built-in effect tipper profiles (wire brush, rod, mallet) can be assigned to any zone for players who like to experiment.

Under the shell

The Echo runs on the eDhrón DSP Engine v1.2 — a proprietary dual-core processing unit delivering sub-3ms latency, fully undetectable in live performance. The aluminium frame houses a 128×64 OLED display for patch management, three assignable control knobs, and a dedicated mode button for live switching without menus.

Connectivity is built for the modern stage:

Onboard effects include reverb, room ambience, subtle pitch correction and a proprietary Skin Resonance Modelling algorithm that simulates head tension response based on room temperature — because a bodhrán player always knows when the head is off.

Powered via USB-C (PD 45W) or the included 12V DC adapter. Runs 6 hours on internal battery. Fits in a gig bag. Weighs 1.8kg.

The only bodhrán you’ll never have to retune.
